The databases on the Library Portal are a rich source of information, data, and research for your studies and we’re making them better and easier to use.

A comprehensive overview

No matter how you access our library databases, through your subject guide or the A-Z on the Library Portal, you’ll now find dedicated pages for each database to help you make the most of them.

Each page includes:

  • A clear description of what the database is

  • The types of content it offers (e.g. eBooks, articles, case studies, videos, reports)

  • Whether it’s included in the main Library Search

  • Accessibility information

  • Terms of use

  • Help and guidance

Now it’s easier than ever to find exactly what you’re looking for!

Accessibility support

We've added detailed accessibility overviews and key links for each database, so you can quickly find information such as:

  • Which built-in accessibility features are available, and which tools work with browser extensions or assistive software

  • Whether content can be downloaded and accessed offline

  • What navigation options are provided to support ease of use

Everything you need to know to make your research experience more accessible and user-friendly.

Terms of use

You’ll also find the terms of use for each database so you know how to use them appropriately and ethically, confident that you’re not compromising your academic integrity.

More help to use databases

We’ve even included details of relevant Learning Success Hub workshops so if you want some guidance or support with using databases and improving your search skills, you’ll know where to go next.
